Wightman Cup

The Wightman Cup was organized by the former tennis player and U.S. Open winner Hazel Hotchkiss Wightman (1886-1974) was launched. The Cup was played in tennis from 1923 to 1989 between the women's teams from the United States and Great Britain. In odd-numbered years, the Games were held in the U.S., in the even years in the UK.

Due to the dominance of the U.S. team at the end of the 1980s, the Cup since 1990 was no longer played.
