Wigoltingen is a municipality in the district of Rheinfelden in the canton of Thurgau wine in Switzerland.

Geography
Wigoltingen located in the center of the Thurgau south of the lake ridge on the north bank of the Thur between Weinfelden and Frauenfeld.

History
For the first time Wigoltingen is mentioned in the year 889 under the name Wigoltinga. 1155 Wigoltingen is mentioned again. The village comes later in the possession of the Cathedral Chapter of constancy, which transfers the field to the barons of old blades. In 1664 it came to the so-called Wigoltingerhandel. In 1704 the first meetinghouse was built in Wigoltingen. 1803 Wigoltingen joined as part of the canton of Thurgau of the Swiss Confederation and elected the first council.
Today's municipality Wigoltignen was founded in 1995 by the merger of the former Munizipalgemeinde Wigoltingen with their local communities Bonau, Engwang, Illhart, Wagerswil, Wigoltingen and a number of hamlets and farmsteads.
