History of writing contest

Over the past nineteen writing competitions now a four-digit number was evaluated nominations, of which several hundred were able to place. Of all the countries participating in the competition articles, a large proportion has been awarded a quality title. A statistical brief overview is available here.

Sections

Participants can nominate their products in one of four sections.

These four sections are in this competition:

  • Section I: " Exact " sciences This primarily includes the true natural sciences such as physics, chemistry, biology and medicine, and veterinary medicine. Also includes articles from the field of mathematics, computer science, technology and engineering sciences to the section of Exact Sciences. All biographical and scientific historical items that belong to this field are also classified in this section.
  • Section II: Culture This includes all articles from the field of art and culture, that is, for example, visual arts, architecture, music, language, literature, film and theater, but also issues of everyday culture.
  • Section III: Social Sciences This primarily includes articles from the field of social sciences such as sociology, politics, law, economics, psychology, anthropology or religious studies. Also humanities such as philosophy and theology belong in this section, but with the exception of history and culture. Also see all items related to sports (including biographies ), transport ( including rail and aviation ) and all products containing primarily geographic reference - cities, regions, states - in this section recording.
  • Section IV: History To this end, for example, all historical events and persons, as well as all areas of the science of history: archeology, political history, economic, everyday and military history, themes of auxiliary historical sciences, etc. As a "historic" it all is from the pre-and early history to the history accepted.

Fits an article into several sections, the jury will decide on the final allocation. The crucial factor is the thematic focus within the article, in certain cases, however, the number distribution of the section topics that should be as uniform as possible. Prices

Although the most important and interesting prices are the ones that no one can pay with money, including the fun and joy of attending and pomp and circumstance as the winner of action, it is thanks to some donors also a wide selection of prizes for the winners.

The awarding of prizes will be awarded in the opinion of the jury ( with the exception of the Audience Award ).
