The namespace is a prefix that is followed by a colon before the actual page title. Example: [ [ User: Moon] ] is a page from the namespace " users ", and thus is "moon " of that user name. This does not affect may be an encyclopedia entry [ [Moon ] ], which deals with the celestial bodies "moon ". Thus, conflicts of user and item names can be prevented.

The number one name space can be used for selection of CSS definitions.

Regulate

For all pages of namespace common rules that are different from the rules of other namespaces apply. For example, other content are permitted as in the project or article name space in user name space.

In normal articles titles of the colon should not be used. If a term has several meanings, for example in the field of computer and one from the field of architecture, the distinction by " term ( Computer)" and " term (architecture) " is to be made (see disambiguation). There are no other names spaces arise except those mentioned above.

Subpages

Article namespace ( ANR)

Also, the ANR has a namespace prefix. Because the name is empty, it is to a preceding colon: reduced. This is not normally necessary; except for the inclusion of an article.

Technical Notes

Namespace numbers

  • For positive numbers an odd number is always the talk page to the previous namespace. The actual namespaces with static content have therefore always an even number (≥ 0).

Sichtungsnamensräume

In the above marked namespaces changes to a page are only considered reliable if they " spotted " were.
