Wilczkowo, Åšwidwin County

Wilczkowo ( German name Voelzkow ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It belongs to the Gmina Brzeżno ( Briesen ) in a circle Świdwin ( Schivelbein ).

Geographical Location

Wilczkowo is located five kilometers south of Świdwin to the voivodeship 162 Kolobrzeg ( Kolberg ) Świdwin - Drawsko Pomorskie ( Pomerania ) and is located at the southern tip of the 36 acres and formerly known as Völzkower lake. This closes without a connection to the Buchholzsee formerly known as. The train station of Wilczkowo Świdwin is on the railway line Stargard - Gdańsk.

History

In the land book of the Neumark place Voltzikow in 1337 is mentioned. 1499 afford the Voltzkow to Voltzkow the Elector Joachim fealty. 1630 the estate Voelzkow is awarded with the Schivelbeiner Burglehen to Georg Wilhelm Karsten von Zastrow, and 1650 it gets to the Schivelbeiner Mayor Heinrich Heinrici.

On March 5, 1945 Voelzkow was occupied by Soviet troops. The village was in Polish hands, and the resident population was expelled. Today Wilczkowo is a district of the municipality Brzeżno in back loop formed Schivelbein.

By 1945 Voelzkow with Kussenow was connected to a church congregation. Kirchdorf was Voelzkow. Today Wilczkowo belongs to the parish of Koszalin ( Koszalin ) in the Diocese of Pomerania - Greater Poland the Polish Evangelical-Augsburg Church.

Village Church

The former three-sided closed timber church was demolished in 1926 and replaced in 1933 by a new warped from clinkers. On the covered up with beaver tails roof a roof turret of wood was attached with copper- clad tip.
