The Wild Rice River is a right tributary of the Red River of the North in the northwest of the U.S. state of Minnesota. It is 257 km long. About the Red River, Lake Winnipeg and the Nelson River, it is part of the watershed of Hudson Bay. He is one of two tributaries of the Red River of the North with this name; the other is the Wild Rice River in North Dakota.

Course

The Wild Rice River rises in the Mud Lake in Clearwater County and follows a generally westerly course through the County Mahnomen and Norman, by the White Earth Indian Reservation, passing the towns of Mahnomen, Twin Valley and Hendrum and about south of Ada, where the nearby headwaters of Marsh River at high water sometimes a tributary of the Red River is.
