Wildpoldsried

Wildpoldsried is a municipality in the Swabian district of Upper Allgäu region. Nationwide and also known internationally was the small community as an energy village, which produces five times as much energy by means of renewable energy as it consumes. For this performance, the community has been honored with German (eg German Solar Prize 2009) and international awards.

Geography

Wildpoldsried located in the Upper Allgäu in Leuba 's pool. Due to the location of the Allgäu- cycle path.

Expansion of the municipal area

The municipal area consists only of the district Wildpoldsried.

To Wildpoldsried include the desert places, Ellenberg, Eufnach, Glad Schwenden, Hutoi, Obereiberg, Meggen Ried, Trampoi, Trogoi and Unteregg.

History

Wildpoldsried was first documented in 1392 ( by a sale of the Castle Mountain cloud ) and prior to 1800 was the seat of a court of the Upper and Lower Prince pin Kempten. Since Reichsdeputationshauptschluss and the secularisation of 1803 the place belonged to Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in the Kingdom of Bavaria was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.

The council belong to 14 local councils (3 women and 11 men) who were newly elected last March 2, 2008. Another member is the mayor; this is Arno Zengerle ( CSU / Free citizens / CDU).

Economy and infrastructure

Economy

There were 2010 in the field of Agriculture and Forestry 63, in the manufacturing sector and 46 in the trade and transport 80 persons work at the workplace. In other areas, were employed to social security at the workplace 152 people. Social insurance contributions at residence, there were a total of 829 in the manufacturing sector, there was no operation in the construction of three plants. In addition, there were 59 farms, farmed an area of 1529 ha. Of these, 4 hectares of arable land and 1491 hectares of permanent grassland.

Energy village Wildpoldsried

Since the mid- 1990s, about 24 million euros have been invested in greening the community. This nine wind turbines were erected, installed 26,400 square feet of photovoltaic systems and built a biogas plant which supplies heat for households. The village produces five times as much electricity as it consumes. 2012, two more wind turbines under construction.

Network integration

In order to optimize the feed, depending on the wind and sun conditions fluctuating production volumes of electricity, the village is working with the Allgäu overland plants, Siemens, Kempten University and RWTH Aachen. Since April 2011 the pilot project " Irene " is running for the integration of renewable energy and electric mobility.

Education

In education, there were 2011 the following facilities:

  • A kindergarten with 100 kindergarten places in which 100 children were cared for by eleven teachers
  • An elementary school in which 104 students were taught by six teachers ( school year 2010 /11)
