Wilfred Bouma

Wilfred Bouma ( born June 15, 1978 in Helmond ) is a Dutch footballer who is employed at PSV Eindhoven since 2010.

Career

The versatile midfielder who can also play at center-back, began his career with his hometown club Helmond Sport. As a teenager, he came in 1994 for the first time for PSV Eindhoven. 1997/1998 he played for one year at MVV Maastricht and 1998/99 at Fortuna Sittard. In 1999 he came back to PSV Eindhoven. During the 2005/2006 season Bouma went to Aston Villa. The club from Birmingham had run out Boumas contract after a serious ankle fracture May 31, 2010. Then Bouma kept fit at his former club PSV Eindhoven. The change from Bouma to his former employer was perfect on 30 August 2010. He played three more years. After his contract expires he held at the beginning of the 2013/14 season at Helmond Sport fit.

His debut in the Dutch national team, he announced on September 2, 2000 against Ireland (2-2 ). In the Euro 2004 football championships in four missions he scored a goal; also at the European Championships in 2008 he was in the Oranje squad and has been used in two games. His last game for the Oranje played Bouma on 30th May 2012 in a 2-0 - win over Slovakia. He stood still in the Netherlands squad for the European Football Championship in 2012. However He came in this tournament to no use.
