Wilfried Feldenkirchen

Wilfried Paul Feldkirchen ( born October 25, 1947 in Cologne, † 21 June 2010 in Hinterzarten ) was a German economic historian and university professor.

Life

Wilfried Feldkirchen studied history, English and economics at the University of Bonn. It was founded in 1974 phil with a thesis on the trade of the city of Cologne in the 18th century to the Dr.. doctorate. In 1980 he habilitated with a work on the iron and steel industry of the Ruhr region from 1879 to 1914. Feldkirchen was honored in 1982 with the Heinz Maier- Leibnitz Prize. In 1985 he was an adjunct professor at the University of Bonn and was Director of the International Relations Department, University of. 1989/1990 he was a professor at the University of Saarland and in 1990 was appointed to the chair of economic, social and business history of the Friedrich- Alexander -University Erlangen -Nuremberg. In 1990 he published the memoirs of Werner von Siemens; he worked on the Encyclopedia of German history. The focus of his scientific work was the economic history of the 19th and 20th centuries, the banks and savings history and the history of agricultural policy. Feldkirchen was Rotarian Member ( Rotary Club Euskirchen - Burgfey ).

Feldkirchen died in 2010 in an accident during a test drive with a replica of the electrical Victoria, who had been of a coachbuilder from Hinterzarten built under his project management and shown by Siemens at the Expo 2010.
