Wilfried Gröbner

Wilfried Gröbner ( born December 18, 1949 in a hurry Castle ) is a former German football player and coach.

" Willi" Gröbner was Vorstopper at the height of his career. In his youth he played from 1958 to 1967 usually as a striker for the BSG Chemie Eilenburg. From 1964 to 1968 he was a member of the Junior Selection of the district Leipzig, and at age 16 he was already playing in the first men's team of BSG Chemie. On December 3, 1967 he delegated his BSG 1 FC Locomotive Leipzig, where he played until 1980 in the GDR Oberliga. For the national football team of the GDR Gröbner played between 1976 and 1979 a total of seven games ( see FIFA rules about international matches (1999)), added eight games with the junior and a game with the B team. In 1976 he took part in the Olympic Games in Montreal and won with the football team of the GDR the gold medal. Gröbner only played in the final and came on there for his club mates tungsten Leo in the 69th minute.

Teams managed

After his playing career Wilfried Gröbner was, who had already earned a degree in physical education teacher, coach. From 1982 to 1988 he worked for the German Football Association of the GDR, including as assistant coach and youth coach. In the 1988/89 season he coached the FC Rot -Weiß Erfurt. From 1990 to June 1993 it was Gröbner coach at SSV Reutlingen 05 In the second half of the 1994/95 season he was again coach at SSV Reutlingen. He took Ralf Rangnick as coach in July 1995 and took over the post of Manager, which he held until November 2005. 15 November 2005 until 28 February 2006 Gröbner worked as a scout at VfL Wolfsburg.

Since December 2006 he has been an independent financial adviser. These brought him Hans Meyer in April 2007 on a fee basis to the scouting team of the 1st FC Nuremberg.
