Wilfried Hannes

Wilfried Hannes ( born May 17, 1957 in Düren ) is a former German football player.

Career

As a player

Hannes has only one eye, which limited the important in football spatial vision greatly due to a tumor.

In 1975 he moved from his hometown club SG Düren 99 to Mönchengladbach. He played in the Football League 309 times for Borussia Moenchengladbach and FC Schalke 04 Borussia he was with the 1976 and 1977 German champions and 1979 UEFA Cup winners. After his Schalke time he played in Switzerland for AC Bellinzona and FC Aarau.

In the National Team, he played 1981-1982 eight times and belonged to the German squad for the 1982 World Cup in Spain.

On the 100th anniversary of Borussia Mönchengladbach he was elected in 2000 by the Borussia supporters in the " Jahrhundertelf " of the association.

As a coach

Between 1991 and 1994 he was a coach at Alemannia Aachen. After Hannes shuttled between the Rhenaniastraße Wuerselen, Borussia Freialdenhoven and the GFC Düren in the Oberliga Nordrhein, until he returned in 2004 to the now playing in the League Association Middle Rhine Borussia Freialdenhoven in which he is still coach.
