Wilfried Huber

Wilfried Huber (born 15 November 1970 at Bruneck ) is a South Tyrolean luger and how Armin Zöggeler member of the sports group of the Carabinieri.

Huber comes from a sports family; his brothers Arnold and Norbert are also luger, his brother Günther is bobsledder. Wilfried Huber is since 1985 a member of the National Luge Team and has participated in six Winter Olympics for Italy.

He had in 1994 when he won together with Kurt Brugger at the Olympic Games in Lillehammer the gold medal in doubles his career highlight. 1992 and 1998, he finished each with Kurt Brugger fifth place. 2002 Huber first came to the single-seater and placed ninth, four years later in Turin, he finished in front of a home crowd in tenth place.

At World Championships Huber and Brugger won three medals: 1990 in Calgary, they were second in 1993 in Calgary and 1995 in Lillehammer they finished respectively third place.

His only World Championship medal in the single-seater received Wilfried Huber in 1993 in Calgary, when he won behind Armin Zöggeler and Jens Müller bronze. In European Championships Huber and Brugger won two silver medals in 1992 and 1994 behind their compatriots Hansjörg Raffl and Norbert Huber, Wilfried's brother.

In luge World Cup Huber and Brugger occupied four times second place. , 1990, 1993, 1995 and 1998 In 1997 seater Huber reached the third place in the World Cup. In the 2008/2009 season Huber reached the 16th place overall in singles.
