Wilhelm Fahlbusch (Flak officer)

Wilhelm Fahlbusch ( born November 8, 1914 in Hannover, † June 12, 2002 in Bonn ) was a German officer in the Wehrmacht and Bundeswehr.

Life

Wilhelm Fahlbusch occurred after completion of the school as an officer cadet in the Air Force one. On 1 July 1937 he was promoted to lieutenant and was one of the I. / Flak - Regiment 7 at. 1939, before the start of World War II, he was transferred as a platoon leader to a heavy 88-mm battery of Flak Regiment 36. After the end of the Polish campaign, the regiment was transferred to the Mosel. It took from there part in the western campaign against France. As a lieutenant, he took over the leadership of the 8./Flakregiment 11 (motorized). In the battle of Kiev defended Fahl Busch's unit from several Soviet tank attacks. For Fahlbusch was awarded on 31 December 1941, the Knight's Cross. Later, he came as a captain for military academy. From there he was transferred to the General Staff, where he received his promotion to Major on May 1, 1944. When the war ended Fahlbusch was taken prisoner, from which he was released on April 3, 1945.

As of January 23, 1956 Fahlbusch served in the armed forces before newly born in the rank of major. On August 16, 1956, he was officially promoted to major, lieutenant colonel and later in 1961 with the rank of colonel. Fahlbusch was appointed Brigadier General by the Cabinet decision of 28 July 1965. He worked as a Deputy Director in the Joint Staff of the Air Force. On March 31, 1970 Fahlbusch was dismissed from the service.
