Wilhelm Gratschow

Wilhelm Grachev ( born October 18, 1982 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan ) is a German amateur boxer and multiple German champion.

Life

The trained toolmaker boxing in the boxing league for the BCV Gifhorn. In the EU Championships in 2003 and 2005, he finished each one third place in the bantamweight. 2000, 2003, 2004, Grachev German champion in this weight class, 2005, he failed in the semifinals to Marcel Schneider, whom he had previously defeated in the finals. As of 2006, Grachev boxed at featherweight and defeated in the semifinals of the German Championships Marcel Meyerdiercks. 2007, he scored his fourth national championship, in 2008, he lost in the final battle against Sandro Schaer.

After his rival Marcel Herfurth was eliminated in the first round at the World Cup 2007 and thus did not qualify for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Grachev was given the opportunity to secure the European qualification tournament in Pescara a starting place for the Olympics.
