Wilhelm Lauche

Wilhelm Lauche ( born May 21, 1827 in Gartow, † September 12, 1883 ) was a German gardener, dendrologist and Pomologe.

Horticultural career

Lauche was the son of a palace gardener of the Counts of Bernstorff'schen management in Gartow and was familiar with the nursery so early. He received his horticultural training at Castle Park Ludwig pleasure and deepened it in different places such as Erfurt, Hannover, Belgium and Potsdam. Lauche stood before five years of Augustine 's trade and plant nursery in Potsdam until he founded his own market garden.

Because of his reputation, he was transferred in 1869 as a royal garden inspector for the technical management of the Royal State nursery and gardener - educational institution in Potsdam, which is closely linked with his name. 1877-1879 he was Managing Director of the German Pomologenvereins.

He was natural for teaching purposes for a model fruit Customize " Pomologisches cabinet", which can still be seen today in the collection of the German Horticultural Museum Erfurt.
