Wilhelm Simetsreiter

Wilhelm Simetsreiter called Schimmy ( born March 16, 1915 in Munich, † July 17, 2001 ibid ) was a German football player.

Career

Clubs

Even as a teenager, he played for Bayern Munich and also experienced the first German championship in 1932. From 1934 to 1947 played Simetsreiter for the 1st team of FC Bayern and was regarded at the time as a left winger as the fastest player on the position in the history of the club. In the Gauliga he was the top scorer of Munich. During the Second World War he was a soldier of the Wehrmacht. In the big leagues, he completed 26 games and scored 13 goals before he finished his career in 1947.

National

For the national team, he scored eight goals in eight international appearances. He made his debut on 25 August 1935 in Erfurt 's 4-2 victory over Romania and scored the goal for interim 3:2 in the 78th minute. On 15 September 1935 he scored in his second senior international in Szczecin 's 5-0 victory over Estonia for the first time two goals in a game. At the Olympic football tournament in Berlin, he scored in the second-round match on August 4 1936 at the 9-0 win over Luxembourg three goals - his only ones in this tournament.
