Wilhelm von Gottberg

William of God Berg ( born March 30, 1940 in Woopen, County Bartenstein, East Prussia ) is a former German police officer and mayor ( CDU). He was 1992-2010 National Chairman of the Country Team East Prussia and since 1992 Vice- President of the Federation of displaced persons.

Life

He was born in 1940 as the son of the landowner Henry of God Berg and his wife Gertrud, born Baroness von der Goltz, on the Good Great Klitten in the district of Königsberg. William of God Mountain was expelled along with his family after the end of World War II from the former East Prussia. They first fled by ship from Gdynia to Gdansk Bay to Swinoujscie and further into the Lüchow- Dannenberg in Lower Saxony.
