Wilhelm von Lenz

Wilhelm von Lenz (Russian Вильгельм Фёдорович Ленц / Wilhelm Fyodorovich Lenz, also under the name Василий / Vasily; * 1 Junijul / June 13 1808greg in Riga, .. .. † 19.jul / January 31 1883greg in Petersburg) was a music writer and member of the Imperial Russian State Council.

Works

He wrote: " Beethoven et ses trois styles" ( Brussels, 1852-55, 2 vols ); "Beethoven, an art study" in 5 volumes (Kassel and Hamburg 1855-60 ), of which Volume 1, entitled: " Beethoven, a Biography ", Vol 3-5, under the title: " Critical catalog of the complete works with analysis of the same " also appeared individually, as well as" The great piano virtuosos of our time from personal acquaintance " (via Liszt, Chopin, Tausig, Henselt, Berlin, 1872).
