Location
Wilhelm village is located north of the High Dam the waiting hall at a higher ground level of the South East Thuringian Slate Mountains after the Saaleanhöhen. To the north are the towns Pössneck and Ranis.

The community Wilhelm village consists of the districts Wilhelm village and Cold tavern.
History
The first mention of the village community Wilhelm is demonstrated in a document from 1381. In the 17th century a windmill was erected on the High Street. This has far done their services in the 20th century.
The coat of arms depicts Justitia with the scale, which suggests that Wilhelm village had its own jurisdiction. According to ancient traditions of the place was to the 17th century, a mining village, of which old tunnels and mountain holes testify today.
