Will Venable

William Dion Venable ( born October 29, 1982 in Greenbrae, California) is an American professional baseball player. He is now with the San Diego Padres under contract, which attracted him at the 2005 Draft in the 7th round.

Career

College

After Venable San Rafael High School had finished, he opted for the Princeton College in the same place. He performed there along with baseball and basketball, both at a high level. He decided to play baseball but, as his father Max was outfielder with the San Francisco Giants.

MLB

Venable was pulled at the 2005 Draft in the 7th round ( 218th overall) by the San Diego Padres. He played his first game on 29 August 2008 against the Colorado Rockies in which he was able to record his first hit. It was followed by a rapid rise of the young outfielders. In his first year in the MLB he could boast a batting average of .264, which each season was constant or is.
