Willebroek is a Belgian municipality in the province of Antwerp Arrondissement Mechelen. It consists of the districts Blaasveld, Heindonk, Tisselt and Willebroek. A part of the village with the Breendonk Fort Breendonk was separated from Gemeindegiebiet and therefore have been incorporated into Willebroek The construction of the motorway A 12. Fort Breendonk is a National Monument since 1947.
Etymology
The name of the Brandenburg village Wildenbruchstrasse was most likely transmitted Willebroeck, the 1180 is noted as Wildebroc. " This name refers to a settlement in a wild, desolate swamp " or breakage.
