William A. Horning

William Allen Horning ( born November 9, 1904 in Missouri; † March 2, 1959 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American art director and production designer.

Life and work

After graduating from the School of Architecture of the University of California was established in 1935 with Shadow of Doubt, the first of a total of 73 films with his participation.

As producer Sam Zimbalist died Horning at the shooting of the film Ben Hur, for which he was posthumously honored in 1960 with an Oscar.

He was married to his death from a cancer with Esther Montgomery.
