William and Mary Quarterly

The William and Mary Quarterly ( WMQ abbreviated ) is an American Studies journal, which means dealing with the history and culture of America since the colonization from the 15th to the early 19th century.

The William and Mary Quarterly is the Omohundro Institute of Early American History and Culture in Williamsburg, Virginia, edited and published quarterly ( January, April, July, October). The geographical focus is on North America; most posts have a historiographical orientation, also essays from other areas (such as archeology or cultural studies ) are accepted. The periodical is named after the College of William and Mary, where it was founded in 1892. Since 1944, it appears in the third episode ( Third Series), the first episode was published in 27 volumes from 1892 to 1919, the second in 23 volumes of 1921 until 1943. The first two episodes focused on the history of Virginia, until the beginning of the third episode of the range of topics has been extended to all of North America. The 2010 edition, which will each lost about half of private and institutional subscribers is located at about 3,700. The magazine is available through JSTOR online.
