William B. Small

William Bradbury Small ( born May 17, 1817 with Limington, York County, Massachusetts, † April 7, 1878 in Newmarket, New Hampshire ) was an American politician. Between 1873 and 1875 he represented the State of New Hampshire in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Even in his childhood moved born in present-day Maine William Small with his parents to Ossipee in New Hampshire. There he attended the public schools. He then attended the Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter. After studying law and its made ​​in 1846 Admitted to the Bar Small began practicing in his new profession in Newmarket. Small was a member of the Republican Party. In 1865 he was elected to the House of Representatives from New Hampshire and 1870 in the state Senate. In the congressional elections of 1872, he was elected in the first district of New Hampshire in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, where he succeeded the Democrats Ellery Albee Hibbard on March 4, 1873. Since he resigned in 1874 to run again, Small was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1875.

After the end of his time in the House of Representatives Small again worked as a lawyer and was active in banking. He died on 7 April 1878 in Newmarket.
