William Berryman Scott

William Berryman Scott ( born February 12, 1858 in Cincinnati, Ohio, † March 29, 1947 in Princeton, New Jersey) was an American vertebrate paleontologist, an authority in the field of mammals and lead author of monographs on the Oligocene of the White River in South Dakota. He was a professor of geology and paleontology at Princeton University.

Scott graduated from Princeton University in 1880 and laid the Ph.D. at the Ruprecht -Karls- University of Heidelberg. He married Alice Adeline post on December 15, 1883.

Honors

1910, the Wollaston Medal of the Geological Society of London, and in 1939 he was awarded the Penrose Medal of the Geological Society of America.
