William Bradford (cinematographer)

William Bradford ( born September 8, 1905 in Barre, Vermont; † 18 May 1959 Los Angeles, California ) was an American cinematographer who was nominated for the Academy Awards in 1941 for an Oscar for best special effects.

Life

Bradford began his career in the film industry in Hollywood camera assistant and cameraman in 1935 in the films The Phantom Empire and Tumbling Tumbleweeds and worked throughout his lasting until his death working as a cameraman in the production of almost 120 films and episodes of television series with.

For his work for the photographic special effects in the film Women in War ( 1940) he was nominated for the Academy Awards in 1941 along with Howard Lydecker, Bud Thackery and Herbert Norsch for the Oscar for best special effects.
