William Clingan

William Clingan (* 1721 in Wagon Town, Chester County, Pennsylvania, † May 9, 1790 ) was an American judge and politician.

Clingan was 1757-1786 Justice of the Peace in Chester County. He was also from 1777 to 1779 a delegate to the Continental Congress for Pennsylvania. During this time he signed the Articles of Confederation in 1778. After that, he was from 1780 to 1786 President of the Court in Chester County. He died in 1790 and was buried at the Upper Octorara Burial Grounds in Chester County.
