William Derham

William Derham (* November 26, 1657 in Stoulton, Worcestershire, † April 5, 1735 in Upminster ) was an English clergyman and natural philosopher.

William Derham is considered the first researcher who measured the speed of sound. He was inducted into the Royal Society on 3 February 1703.
