William Dumas

William Dumas ( born January 23, 1942 in Nîmes ) is a French politician. He is the National Assembly since 2004 deputy.

Dumas was born into a winemaking family, but even worked from 1965 to Crédit Agricole. He became politically active and joined the Socialist Party in 1970. In 1992 he moved into the General Council of the department of Gard. Two years later he was elected as its Vice President. In the local elections in 2001, he was elected Mayor of Fons. In 2002, he stepped up to the parliamentary elections as a representative of Damien Alary what he had done in 1997. After Alarys retreat in 2004, Dumas moved by the Parliament. 2007 and 2012 he was re-elected.
