William Eugene Higby

William Eugene Higby ( born January 26, 1884 in Garden Grove, Decatur County, Iowa, † 1967 in Monument, Colorado ) was an American politician. Between 1943 and 1947 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Colorado.

Career

About the youth and education of William Higby nothing is handed down. There are also about his career beyond politics in the sources not specified. He came to Colorado, where he struck as a member of the Republican Party a political career. Between 1933 and 1940 he sat in the House of Representatives from Colorado. Since 1939 he was its chairman. After that, he was from 1941 to 1943 to the State Senate.

In 1942, Higby was elected to the side of John Charles Vivian Vice- Governor of the State of Colorado. This post he held 1943-1947. Yet he was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. In June 1948 he took part in Philadelphia as a delegate to the Republican National Convention. William Higby died in 1967 and was buried in Monument, Colorado Springs.
