William H. Davidson (lieutenant governor)

William H. Davidson was an American politician. Between 1836 and 1838 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Illinois.

The survival data from William Davidson are not known. About his youth and schooling, as well as his career beyond politics is also not known. He lived at least temporarily, in White County in Illinois. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party, founded by Andrew Jackson. He was also a member of the Illinois Senate. In 1836 he was president of the chamber of parliament.

Following the resignation of Vice- Governor Alexander Jenkins Davidson was his successor in accordance with the state constitution. This post he held between December 9, 1836 and December 7, 1838, but only provisionally. He was Deputy Governor Joseph Duncan. After the end of his time as Lieutenant Governor lose track of him.
