William H. Dieterich

William Henry Dieterich ( born March 31, 1876 at Cooperstown, Brown County, Illinois, † October 12, 1940 in Springfield, Illinois ) was an American politician (Democratic Party), who represented the state of Illinois in both chambers of Congress.

William Dieterich was born on a farm and attended the country school before continuing his education at the Kennedy Normal and Business College in Rushville. There he made his degree in 1897; Another followed in 1901 at the Northern Indiana Law School in Valparaiso, after which he was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Rushville as a lawyer. During the Spanish- American War he served as a corporal in the U.S. Army.

After his military service Dieterich officiated from 1903 to 1907 as a trial attorney of Rushville. Between 1906 and 1908 he worked as head of financial management for the schools of this city. In addition, he practiced from 1906 to 1910 the office of a district judge in Schuyler County from. He moved to Chicago in 1911 and settled eventually in 1912 as an attorney in Beardstown down; 1913-1917 he worked as a prosecutor with responsibility for inheritance taxes again in public service.

Finally, William Dieterich was also politically active and sat from 1917 to 1921 in the House of Representatives from Illinois. Ten years later, on March 4, 1931, he moved for the Democrats, a House of Representatives of the United States in Washington, where he completed a term of up to 3 March 1933. For re-election he did not join in because he was nominated by his party as a U.S. Senator. Dieterich also won this election and belonged to the Senate on 4 March 1933 to 3 January 1939. He opted not to run again and worked subsequently as a lawyer again. Already in the following year he died while on a business trip to Springfield, the capital of Illinois.
