William H. Randall

William Harrison Randall (* July 15, 1812 in Richmond, Madison County, Kentucky; † August 1, 1881 in London, Kentucky ) was an American politician. Between 1863 and 1867 he represented the state of Kentucky in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

William Randall attended the public schools of his home. After a subsequent study of law and qualifying as a lawyer, he began in 1835 in London to work in this profession. Between 1836 and 1844 he was a Clerk at the District Court in Laurel County. Politically Randall occurred only in the 1860s during the Civil War in appearance. At that time he was a Unionist. In the congressional elections of 1862 he was in the eighth election district of Kentucky in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of John J. Crittenden on March 4, 1863. After a re-election in 1864 he was able to complete in Congress until March 3, 1867 two legislative sessions. These were shaped by the events of the civil war and its consequences.

Between 1870 and 1880 Randall officiated as a district judge in the 15th Judicial District of Kentucky. He died on August 1, 1881 in London, where he was also buried.
