William Hayward Jr.

William Hayward, Jr. ( * 1787 in Easton, Talbot County, Maryland, † October 19, 1836 ) was an American politician. Between 1823 and 1825 he represented the state of Maryland in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

William Hayward visited the Easton Academy and then studied until 1808 at the Princeton College. After a subsequent law degree in 1809 and its recent approval as a lawyer, he started in Easton to work in this profession. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic-Republican Party launched a political career. Between 1818 and 1820 he sat in the House of Representatives from Maryland.

In the congressional elections of 1822 Hayward was in the seventh election district of Maryland in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Robert Wright on March 4, 1823. Until March 3, 1825, he was able to complete a term in Congress. After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Hayward practiced as a lawyer again. He died on 19 October 1836 in Easton and was buried in the family cemetery on his estate Ships Head.
