William Holden (politician)

William Holden ( † after 1882) was an American politician. Between 1867 and 1871 he was Deputy Governor of the State of California.

Career

The Life-history of William Holden are not known. Since March 4, 1850, he was a California resident. He was courteous crossed from Missouri, the prairies and the Rocky Mountains. For two years he worked in Mariposa in the local mines. Then he settled in Stanislaus County. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party. Between 1857 and 1883 he was several times a deputy in the California State Assembly. In the meantime, he also belonged to the State Senate. In 1863 he became district judge in Mendocino County for 18 months.
