William Ironside Groombridge

William Ironside Groombridge was the first coach of FC Gillingham. For Gillingham he was working three times. The first time from 1896 to 1906, the second time was from 1908 to 1919, and the third time by 1922 up to 1923. The special feature of Groombridge, that he did not as was customary, the title of " secretary", which in German as much as Managing Director or Secretary means wore.
