William J. Mills

William Joseph Mills ( born January 11, 1849 in Yazoo City, Yazoo County, Mississippi, † December 24, 1915 in Las Vegas, New Mexico ) was an American politician (Democratic Party) and from 1910 to 1912 last Governor of New - Mexico territory.

In 1878, Mills was elected to the House of Representatives from Connecticut. Between 1881 and 1882 he was in the Senate this federal state. After its move to the New Mexico Territory, he was 1898-1910 Justice of the Supreme Court ( Supreme Court ) in this area. In 1910 he was appointed last territorial governor of New Mexico. This office he held until 1912, when New Mexico State of the United States.
