William J. Murphy

William J. Murphy ( born March 12, 1912 in Wallace, Shoshone County, Idaho; † August 20, 1993 in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho ) was an American politician. Between 1977 and 1979 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Idaho.

About the youth and education of William Murphy nothing is handed down. Also there is no information about his career beyond politics. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party. Between 1958 and 1972 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Idaho.

In January 1977 Governor Cecil D. Andrus of U.S. President Jimmy Carter has been appointed as the new Minister of the Interior. Then Andrus gave up the governorship, which fell to his deputy John V. Evans. This appointed William Murphy to his lieutenant governor. This office he held between January 1977 and 1 January 1979 28. In 1978, he was not confirmed.

After the end of his term as Lieutenant Governor Murphy is no longer politically have appeared. He died on August 20, 1993 in Coeur d' Alene.
