William K. Brewster

William K. "Bill" Brewster ( born November 8, 1941 in Ardmore, Oklahoma) is an American politician. Between 1991 and 1997 he represented the third electoral district of the state of Oklahoma in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

William Brewster attended the common schools and in Texas. Until 1968 he studied at the Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Between 1966 and 1971 he was a member of the reserve of the U.S. Army. In the following years he became pharmacists, rancher and owner of a real estate company.

Politically, Brewster became a member of the Democratic Party. Between 1983 and 1990 he was a delegate in the House of Representatives from Oklahoma. In 1990, he was selected in the third district of Oklahoma in the U.S. House of Representatives. He was able to prevail within his party against the former Congressman Wes Watkins. After two elections Brewster was able to complete a total of three parliamentary terms in Congress between January 1991 and January 3, 1997 3.

In 1996, he opted not to run again. His seat fell back to its predecessor Watkins, who had meanwhile gone over to the Republican Party. 1998 Brewster was a possible candidate for the gubernatorial elections in conversation. He has but then decided against a candidacy.
