William Karel

William Karel (* 1940 in Tunisia) is a Tunisian photographer, writer and director. Karel attended the " Ecole de photo" in Paris, before immigrating to Israel. In Israel, he lived for 10 years in the kibbutz, where he worked first as a cook and on a banana plantation.

In 1981 he returned to France, where he has worked as a photographer for over 10 years. Later he made as a writer and director different films for television. Among other things, Karel was honored for his work with the Emmy Award and in 2003 he received the Adolf Grimme Award for his film " Kubrick, Nixon and the man in the moon ".
