William Lawrence Adrian

William Lawrence Adrian ( born April 16, 1883 in Sigourney, Iowa, USA, † February 13, 1972 in Nashville, Tennessee) was Bishop of Nashville.

Life

William Lawrence Adrian attended St. Ambrose College in Davenport. Adrian studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the Pontifical North American College in Rome. He received on 29 May 1926, the sacrament of Holy Orders for the Diocese of Davenport.

On February 6, 1936, he was named by Pope Pius XI. Bishop of Nashville. The Apostolic Delegate in the United States, Archbishop Giovanni Cicognani Amleto, donated to him on 16 April of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the bishop of Davenport, Henry Patrick Rohlman, and the Bishop of Trenton, Moses Elias Kiley.

On September 4, 1969 William Lawrence Adrian resigned as Bishop of Nashville and Pope Paul VI. appointed him Titular Bishop of Elo. Adrian waived on January 13, 1971, the titular Elo.
