William Lustig

William Lustig ( born February 1, 1955 in New York City ) is an American film director and producer.

Life

William Lustig's first directorial work were the films The Violation of Claudia and Hot Honey that he turned under the pseudonym Billy Bagg. He became known by the made ​​in collaboration with Joe Spinell horror movie maniac, which he presented in 1980 to the film festival in Cannes. In 1988, he turned the horror film Maniac Cop, for which the two sequels he was also active as a director.

Since 1999 he has concentrated almost exclusively on his role as executive producer in the film business for documentary films about the film industry. He leads the DVD company Blue Underground.

His daughter Marni Lustig is an actress.
