William O'Brien (Fine Gael)

William O'Brien ( born March 6, 1918 in Patrickswell, County Limerick, † November 5, 1994 ) was an Irish politician of the Fine Gael.

Life

O'Brien was initially an employee of the state transport company Córas Iompair Eireann ( CIE).

His political career began in 1969 when he was elected as a candidate of the Fine Gael for the first time a member of the Senate ( Seanad Eireann ) and this represented the interest group of the workers until 1977. His candidates for the lower house ( Dáil Éireann ) 1969 and 1973, however, were unsuccessful.

This was followed by 1977 but then his election as deputies ( Teachta Dala ) in the House of Commons. This he belonged after several re- elections to ten years as a representative of the constituency of West Limerick. In 1987, he opted not to run again and retired from the House of Commons from.
