William O. Baker

William Oliver Baker ( born July 15, 1915 in Quaker Neck, Maryland, † October 31, 2005 in Chatham, New Jersey ) was an American chemist and former CEO of Bell Laboratories (now Lucent Technologies) from 1973 to 1979, before 1955-1973 Board member. Under his leadership, Bell Labs some Nobel prizes won in physics. Baker himself received the 1978 Von Hippel Award.

Baker was an advisor of U.S. Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon and Reagan.
