William P. Kimball

William Preston Kimball ( * November 4, 1857 at East Hickman, Fayette County, Kentucky, † February 24, 1926 in Lexington, Kentucky ) was an American politician. Between 1907 and 1909 he represented the state of Kentucky in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

William Kimball attended both public and private schools. He then studied at the Transylvania University in Lexington. After studying law and his 1891 was admitted as a lawyer, he started working in Lexington in this profession. Politically Kimball was a member of the Democratic Party. In 1883 and 1884 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Kentucky; 1889-1890 he was a city employee in Lexington. Thereafter, he served from 1891 to 1901 as a legal representative of the city. Between 1901 and 1907 he held then the Office of the Prosecutor in Fayette County.

In the congressional elections of 1906, Kimball was in the seventh election district of Kentucky in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of South Trimble on March 4, 1907. Since he was not nominated by his party for re-election in 1908, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1909. After his retirement from the U.S. House of Representatives, William Kimball moved back out of politics. In the following years he practiced law. He died on February 24, 1926 in Lexington, and was also buried there.
