William P. Remington

William Procter Remington ( born March 13, 1879 in Philadelphia, † December 19, 1963 in La Jolla ) was an American athlete and bishop.

At the Olympic Games in 1900, he missed the 110- meter hurdles as a Second of hope run the finals. In the hurdles over 200 m, he retired from already in the flow. He had more success in the long jump, in which he finished in fourth place with 6,825 m.

William Remington was during his sporting career, student of the University of Pennsylvania. Later he studied at the Virginia Theological Seminary and was bishop of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America. In 1918 he was ordained by Daniel Sylvester Tuttle and Charles David Williams and Theodore Payne Thurston bishop. He acted as a suffragan of South Dakota from 1918 to 1922 and in 1945 the Pennsylvania based until 1961. Moreover, he was 1923-1945 Second Diocesan Bishop of Eastern Oregon.
