William P. Thorne

William Pryor Thorne ( born March 5, 1843 Shelby County, Kentucky, † May 27, 1928 in Eminence, Kentucky ) was an American politician. Between 1903 and 1907 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Kentucky.

Career

William Thorne grew up on a farm and graduated from Eminence College. After a subsequent study of law and qualifying as a lawyer, he started working in Eminence in this profession. For four years he was district attorney in Henry County. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic Party. Four times he was elected to the House of Representatives of Kentucky, where he earned a few bills.

1903 Thorne was elected to the side of JCW Beckham for lieutenant governor of his state. This post he held 1903-1907. Yet he was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. Thorne has also worked in the banking industry. He died on 27 May 1928 in Eminence, where he was also buried.
