William Paterson University

The William Paterson University of New Jersey is a public university located in Wayne Township, New Jersey.

It was founded in 1855 to train teachers in New Jersey in 1951 and moved to its present campus on a former farm and summer resort of the Hobart family (hence the name of the built 1877 Hobart Manor, in which the president of the university has its office ), the family of former U.S. Vice President Garret Hobart. It was still called Paterson State Teachers College expanded its curriculum but in 1966 further contracts and changed its name in 1971 in William Paterson University.

It is named for William Paterson, former governor and senator of the Supreme Court of New Jersey and a member of The University is located in a wooded, hilly area near Paterson.

Focus of the training, in addition to humanities medicine and business administration. Among other things, they also train in popular music and jazz. The University has its own radio station, WPSC - FM.

2010, it had around 11,000 students.
