William Rogers (engraver)

William Rogers ( * 1545, † 1605 ) was an English engraver.

Rogers was the first Englishman who made ​​a significant contribution to the art of the graphic. He probably learned his craft in the Netherlands. He was known for his portraits and cover images. Rogers created the portraits of many important political figures of his time, such as Queen Elizabeth I Tudor, Robert Devereux, 2nd Earl of Essex and the French King Henry IV.
