William Scrots

Guillem Scrotes, English William Stretes ( * before 1537, † 1553 in England) was a Flemish painter.

Life

Scrotes 1537 as a painter to the regent of the Netherlands, Maria of Castile, was appointed. He painted the portraits of Emperor Charles V and his family, and was in 1546 in the service of the English king Henry VIII him some portraits English nobleman attributed, all of which are held in the elegant Italian style.
